Hambone’s Words of Wisdom on…The Greatest Run in History

Posted on December 17, 2020January 19, 2024

There are a couple of runs in the Schmoedown that come to mind when you ask the question, “What is the greatest run in history?” Paul Oyama going 6-0 all the way to the belt, the seven in a row that Samm Levine did on his way to a title, and hell, some will even bring up Kristian Harloff’s revenge tour.

Did Adam Collins just surpass all of those?

Now, anything like this kind of debate can be very subjective in its arguments. People will come at it from all angles and different points to try and fit their own narratives. With that being said, the answer to the question I proposed above is yes.

Adam Collins just had the greatest run in history.

Like him or not, think he is boring or not, he is 7-0 with a title in his hand that he beat the GOAT to get, all while putting up, before the championship match, a 95% accuracy rate. Collins, going into that match, had fewer wrong answers than he had played matches. Six wins and five incorrect answers. Not only that, but in between those victories, he flexed by winning the Horror Free4All.

To me, this is by far the greatest run in Schmoedown history. It isn’t boring to watch. It is actually amazing seeing this firsthand. And you know what else is going to be exciting? Watching all the competitors as they try and get to his level of play to take that belt away.

When you sit back and try to debate what you think is the greatest Schmoedown run of all time, I want you to know that I, and at least one other person I know, will be raising our pointer finger in the air as we say, “Correction, it is the Adam Collins run that is the best of all time.”
