During his Schmoedown career, Moose Haas competed in the teams and Innergeekdom divisions. Drafted by Tom Dagnino in the 2021 Schmoedown draft, he was a member of the Finstock Exchange during Season 8: War. Here are his reflections on the show that we all love, in his own words.
Looking back on the Schmoedown, what is the most memorable moment that you were personally involved in?
Being able to play in a live event-type setting at the Scum and Villainy Cantina– I showed up and was told I’d be managing JTE in a match, I was managed by The Tyrant Ty Lieberman and I managed to get a TKO against Chance while wearing the TKO shirt.
What is the most memorable moment that you were not involved in?
For me being able to see Griffin Newman and King Kan win the teams belt. Being a former teammate of theirs, It was great to see those guys win and seeing how their hard work paid off for them.
Which of your matches would you say is the best you played?
The match that I lost to AmarĂº Moses was probably the best I played. I had a perfect round 1, Got my 2, 3, and 5-point questions, and put up 32 points in a loss.
Which match that didn’t involve you would you say is the best you ever saw?
The 51/50 match [between Alex Damon and Andrew Dimalanta] is probably by far the greatest show of movie trivia I’ve ever seen.
How would you describe the Schmoedown’s impact on you?
The most impactful takeaway for me with the Schmoedown has been the relationships that have formed joining this community. Coming in as rookie nobody last season and just being welcomed with open arms was such an amazing feeling.
What will you miss most about the Schmoedown?
I will miss the friendships and players most of all. I can play movie trivia anywhere, But being able to spend time with the amazing people at the schmoedown has been a blessing. I will miss them all.
