During his Schmoedown career, “The Silent Assassin” Amarú Moses competed in the teams and Innergeekdom divisions. Drafted by Samm Levine in the 2021 Schmoedown draft, he was a member of the Usual Suspects during Season 8: War and SWAG during Season 9: Reboot. Here are his reflections on the show that we all love, in his own words.
Looking back on the Schmoedown, what is the most memorable moment that you were personally involved in?
My championship match has the two moments that are tied for the most memorable for me. It’s the perfect Middle Earth Rd 2 followed by getting the last 3 speed round questions in a row to take a 3 pt lead.
What is the most memorable moment that you were not involved in?
I died laughing when Rocha took the V mask off of Greg [Alba], and John [Humphrey] took off the Jigsaw mask to reveal another V Mask. That is the most I’ve laughed out loud in 9 seasons.
Which of your matches would you say is the best you played?
I’m soooo mad that no one heard the match of Me vs. Moose. It’s easily my best match and still not me at my best. Got the record for a 3 round match in any division, and spinning opponents’ choice. But also, the back and forth between Moose and me was pretty great.
Which match that didn’t involve you would you say is the best you ever saw?
Best match I’ve seen has to be the one I got to see in person. The 51-50 between Shazam and KOrruption at 2021’s Collision. Back and forth, comebacks, sudden deaths, and I also knew the winning question. Jimmy Dolan Shake n Bake baby.
How would you describe the Schmoedown’s impact on you?
The Schmoedown is really the channel that got me into watching YouTube consistently and became the basis of the entertainment I watch. It has also given me another community of really amazing friends I would never have met otherwise.
What will you miss most about the Schmoedown?
Biggest thing I’m gonna miss is the opportunities I get to meet all the amazing people in person and hang out with them. Hopefully, we can find ways to still get together.
