Here’s the latest we’ve been hearing from our sources on how Schmoedown Free Agency is going.
Marisol McKee is taking serious offers from factions and is close with a few. It will be interesting to see if signing with any of these factions is agreeing to a sign-and-trade with Shannon Barney and Korruption or if McKee is looking to play for a different faction for the upcoming Season 8.
We reported before on Ben Bateman’s possible return to the Finstock Exchange, and we’re hearing now that the deal between Bateman and Tom Dagnino is close and that they have purposefully been duping people to make managers from other factions think that they aren’t. It will be interesting to see how the dynamic between Bateman and Dagnino is following the events of Season 7 should Bateman re-sign.
Potentially related to that, John Kaiser is making some big moves. Our sources did not give any further information than that, so we, at this point, can only wonder what the Dungeon is up to.
Our sources also said that three players appear to be re-signing with their Season 7 managers. Ethan Erwin almost agreed to join the Finstock Exchange, but it now looks like he will be staying with manager Samm Levine and the Usual Suspects. And team champions the Odd Couple – Jeff Sneider and Marc Andreyko – are sticking with Roxy Striar. Sneider and Andreyko staying with Striar is not a surprise, but Erwin agreeing to stay with Levine would be intriguing. We have no further information on who else Levine or Striar would be signing.
And finally, we’ve been told that managers are already looking towards the 2021 Schmoedown Draft, and there are a few names that keep coming up. We’ve been told that potential draftees Amaru Moses, Frankie Alvarez, Beth May, Thomas Harper, and Mark Haas are the names that have been circulating as the ones to watch, and we look forward to finding out which names from the previously released draft list will be called out during the draft on January 29th.
All of these potential moves leave us excited and intrigued for what Season 8’s factions is going to look like. We don’t have long to wait to find out if these moves actually occur or if there will be some surprises on this coming Friday, January 22nd, when the Schmoedown Free Agency special happens on the Schmoedown Entertainment Network.
