Tonight, the free agent signings by the eight factions for Season 8 of the Movie Trivia Schmoedown were announced on a Free Agency special. Players who had signed with a faction appeared on screen with Chairman Kristian Harloff to announce what faction they had chosen to sign with, and here are the results.
Finstock Exchange
– John Rocha
– The Barbarian
– JTE
The Quirky Mercs
– Brendan Meyer
– William Bibbiani
– Kevin Smith
The Stars
– Marc Andreyko
– Jeff Sneider
– Alex Damon
The Usual Suspects
– Liz Shannon Miller
– Ethan Erwin
– Drew McWeeny
The Den
– Paul Preston
– Ben Goddard
– Marisol McKee
SWAG
– Paul Oyama
– Chandru Dhandapani
– Lon Harris
The Dungeon
– Robert Parker
– Dan Murrell
– Ben Bateman
This is in addition to Korruption’s already protected three of Mike Kalinowski, Chance Ellison, and Adam Collins.
During the special, after Lon Harris resigned with SWAG, Harloff announced that the team of Harris and Paul Oyama, Final Exam, has a number one contender shot, something which I believe was not previously known. (If it was known, please comment below and let me know when that was announced.)
After the special, Harloff went onto the Schmoedown Rundown and announced that Kate Mulligan had traded McKee to Shannon Barney and Korruption for Korruption’s first and second-round picks. This gives Mulligan back to back picks at the end of the first round and the beginning of the second round, essentially giving her three first-round picks.
A big surprise was Drew McWeeny coming out of retirement to rejoin Samm Levine and the Usual Suspects, the faction he played one match for last season. JTE signing with the Finstock Exchange was another surprise signing.
What does everyone think of the results of Schmoedown free agency? Are you surprised that a player dropped down into the draft? Comment below and let us know!
