Sources close to the situation have revealed to us that the rumors of Ben Bateman potentially returning to the Finstock Exchange are true and that the offer made to him by Dagnino is “huge.” Part of this offer includes Dagnino potentially trading away several assets to John Kaiser and the Dungeon in order to secure the first overall pick in the upcoming 2021 Schmoedown Draft. Dagnino would reportedly use that pick to draft someone that will help him form two super teams.
The idea of two super teams puts the prospect of a Ben Bateman/John Rocha team up into play, or to take Bateman and Rocha and find them each a partner who would be equal in stature. Who Dagnino would then sign as his third free agent might give a clue as to who that draft pick might be should he acquire it, but our sources gave no indication on any other signings or potential draftees that Dagnino is thinking of.
Bateman re-signing with Dagnino and the Finstock Exchange would be a surprise given the saga that has gone on between the two since Bateman lost the Singles Championship to Dan Murrell in September. Bateman has recently made public comments about his feelings on Dagnino’s management skills among other things, so it will be interesting to see how this develops as the free agency period draws to a close.
