The Re-Watcher’s Council was an idea that Snark had for a Buffy the Vampire Slayer rewatch series back in early 2023 because it’s his favorite television show. I had seen part of the series but not all of it, so I jumped at the chance to do the show with him. Fares hadn’t seen any of the show (but had somehow watched the spinoff Angel) so he wanted to be part of it too.
It took us a while to get the show off the ground, but once we started with season 1, episode 1, “Welcome to the Hellmouth” on November 2, 2023, we set out on a journey that is going to last us, if we keep to our current schedule and don’t miss any weeks, until December 31, 2026. That’s the projected date for us to watch season 7, episode 22, “Chosen.” But we won’t be done with the Buffyverse or the Re-Watcher’s Council.
It was in one of our channel meetings when Justin brought up the fact that even though the Re-Watcher’s Council name is based on something Buffy-related, the Watchers’ Council, we could use the name for other rewatch series. I love the name, again an idea of Snark’s, and it really does fit what we want to do with these rewatches for the channel. So the Re-Watcher’s Council will live beyond the Buffy rewatch series.
When we reach the point where Angel started airing alongside Buffy, we’ll be reviewing it weekly too. Buffy episodes will remain on Thursdays at 3pm PT/6pm ET, and Angel episodes will be on Fridays at 3pm PT/6pm ET. Due to Fares being on Good Friends, Better Rivals on the sports channel at that time, we’ll be pre-recording the Angel episodes. The Buffy episodes will remain live unless we need to pre-record them as well.
And the first Re-Watcher’s Council series beyond the Buffyverse will be for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We’ll be starting with Iron Man, and we’ll be releasing the first episode on the seventeenth anniversary of the film’s release, May 2nd. From there, we’ll be reviewing the movies and Disney+ shows in chronological order of release. We’ve yet to decide if we’re reviewing the shows by episode or by season, or if we’re doing Re-Watcher’s Council episodes for the movies and shows that already have reviews on the channel. But we’re excited about doing this.
We’ve discussed doing other rewatch series as well, so look out for those in the future. We love to watch stuff as it comes out, but we like revisiting things too. Hope you enjoy everything we’ve got coming up!

Between The Lines with DWeezy: Showtime
Throughout the Roger Goodell era as the league’s commissioner, the NFL has seen unprecedented heights in a variety of areas, such as league revenue, and throughout that same time period, public perception of the league has been a main concern for the NFL. From applying pressure on the likes of ESPN to shutdown their hit show “Playmakers” in the early 2000s, to trying to pacify the social impact of movies like “Concussion”, and others. On the surface, the NFL portrays the league as being at the forefront of innovation in reducing and eliminating injuries like concussions from the game, but a deeper dive into the subject seems to paint a different portrait.

Q&A with the Crew!
We asked for questions in our Discord and got members of the crew to answer them. All of this week’s questions came from Greg Castillo.
Greg: Why do y’all hate Daredevil?
Daney: I know that you are joking, but let’s be clear: no one in LGRN hates the show. I also made fun of their “mixed” reaction in the last two weeks since the show debuted, but on a more serious note: there is no hate. And even though I think it’s crazy to have a mixed reaction towards that pilot, I think there are rational reasons to have some issues with Born Again (even if I disagree with it).
The show itself has a higher bar of quality to meet than the rest of MCU. The Netflix era of the show – even though it wasn’t perfect – was way better in terms of storytelling and filmmaking when compared to basically 90%+ of the main MCU media. As we discussed just recently in After Snark, the task of both being an entry point but also a revival/season 4 is not an easy task, and those first 15 minutes are a statement that not everyone is going to jump on the ship right away.
So far the show hasn’t been neutered by Disney+ shenanigans or cookie-cutter tone or formulaic structures that have plagued Marvel since after Loki season 1, however, after so many misses and bumps on the road within this Multiverse Saga, I think it’s more than fine to be skeptical of what this show is gonna turn out, given the history of MCU shows not sticking the landing. However, given the steady quality of episode 3 and season 2 already in production, I think that skepticism and the cynicism towards this show is already been watering down and I remain hopeful and optimistic that we might be witnessing the best MCU show so far (and it will probably remain so to the end of this year, at least).
Greg: Will AI 🤖 be as bad as Terminator or worse?
Fares: Yes due to it is negative environmental impacts. It has been projected that it could stabilize and enhance certain aspects of life like waste management or climate change. We don’t have to project the negative impacts. It uses too much water. It increases Electronic waste and these programs ultimately are written by humans so they will have human bias cooked into them. So the projections/solutions could be skewed in the first place. Also, some of the art looks bad.
Greg: Is that self-checkout in stores disrespectful to people? (You have to buy stuff now check yourself out and getting rid of a job.)
Adelia: No, I don’t think it’s disrespectful to people. It’s made checking out (usually) faster, it’s made going to the store easier for someone like me who struggles with having to speak to people, and I think that it hasn’t cost that many people their jobs. My understanding of my local store is that they took the people who would have been cashiers and turned them into the ones who shop the online orders and prepare them for pickup or delivery. That may not be the case with all stores, and some people might have lost their jobs, which sucks, but there are places where that’s not the case.
