Match Report: Dan Murrell (16-6, 8KO, The Dungeon) vs Jeff Sneider (13-8, 3KO, The Stars)

“Dangerous” Dan Murrell entered the match with a record of 16-6. He had a career accuracy of 82.51%. This was his fourth Movie Trivia Schmoedown number one contender’s match in the singles division. He represented The Dungeon.

“The Insneider” Jeff Sneider entered the match with a record of 13-8. He had a career accuracy of 75.08%. This was his fifth Movie Trivia Schmoedown number one contender’s match in the singles division. He represented The Stars.

First Round

Both competitors used at JTE rule on question one, oddly.

Murrell missed one question, scoring seven out of a possible eight points. Sneider missed two questions, scoring six out of a possible eight points. The missed questions were:

Second Round

Murrell deferred.  Sneider spun Sports first, decided to spin again, and spun Mystery second.  He went to multiple-choice twice, answered four out of four questions correctly and earned six out of a possible eight points.

Murrell spun Wrestlers in Film, decided to spin again, and landed on Wrestlers in Film for a second time.  He went to multiple-choice once, answered four out of four questions correctly, and earned seven out of a possible eight points.

The score at the end of the second round was 14-12 to Murrell.

Third Round

Sneider went first.  His two-point question was in the category of Fantasy/Sci-Fi and he got it correct.

Murrell went next.  His two-point question was in the category of Directors and he got it correct.

It bounced back to Sneider.  His three-point question was in the category of Crime and he got it correct.

Then it was Murrell’s three-point question.  It was in the category of Comedy and he got it correct.

In what 1980s comedy does real life baseball player Reggie Jackson become a victim of mind control that turns him into an assassin?
Murrell’s Answer: The Naked Gun
Correct Answer: The Naked Gun

Sneider then had his five-point question in the category of 90s.  He got it correct.

In what 1998 comedy film do Albert Brooks, Julie Kavnar, and Ellen DeGeneres lend their voices to live action animals?
Sneider’s Answer: Dr. Dolittle
Correct Answer: Dr. Dolittle

Murrell then had the opportunity to win the match with his five-point question.  It was in the category of Will Smith and he got it correct.

The final score was 24-22 to Murrell.

Other Details

Sneider answered 13 out of the 15 questions asked to him correctly for an accuracy of 86.67%. His record is now 13-9. It is unknown when his next match is going to be.

Murrell answered 14 out of the 15 questions asked to him correctly for an accuracy of 93.34%. His record is now 17-6. The Dungeon earned 4 points and are still first in the faction standings with 11 points. His next match is against Adam Collins in April.
