Jeff Sneider and Claudia Dolph were not included in this list, though Harloff later said that this was an error. He also confirmed that Grae Drake and Matt Atchity are currently inactive. Also not on the list is Andrew Ghai. Ghai is an eligible free agent, but his obvious disdain for the digital format combined with the fact that he was “kidnapped” by the Schmoeminati at the end of last season means this is not a surprise to me. Not mentioned is Josh Robert Thompson, who last week was confirmed for the draft, but this is likely a mistake. Another name not on the list is Tim Franco, but it is currently unknown if that is an error.
Kevin Smets was also not included on this list, though he is an eligible free agent. Smets has already stated he is taking a step back from competing while he undergoes treatment for cancer. I would not be surprised to see him take on an advisory role with John Kaiser and the Dungeon this season and hopefully we will see him return to competition in 2022.
Thadd Williams listed as an incoming rookie when he has played matches in the league before is seemingly an oversight. Williams, who served as the commissioner for a time and played in the Commissioner Bowl at Schmoedown Spectacular III, was also a member of team Deep Cuts with partner Aaron Wilhelm.
Given such a long list of potential draftees, it will be interesting to see which 96 of these players end up on faction rosters for this season, and who gets left out.
UPDATE: The official Schmoedown website has now released a full list of all competitors in the draft.
