Today, the 2020 Movie Trivia Schmoedown Awards were announced live on the Schmoedown Entertainment Network and here is a recap of the winners.
- They announced Josh Macuga was retired not only from the Schmoedown but he is retired from his hair.
- Comeback Player of the Year went to Andres “Ace” Cabrera, who came back from a terrible loss at the beginning of the year.
- Babyface of the year went to Brendan “The Kid” Meyer. The guy just displays a great smile at all times and many people love him.
- Heel of the Year went to Chandru “The Chosen” Dhandapani which was where I thought this was going all along. People generally dislike him so that means he is doing a great job.
- Heel Team of the Year went to Korruption. Well deserved, they won matches and did their thing. Mike Kalinowski wasn’t there. They said he was under the weather.
- Feud of the Year went to Roxy Striar vs Shannon Barney. This was interesting because it was two managers. Shows that the faction idea and teams really did mean something, and the first year managers stood up and had some moments. Striar didn’t show up, of course.
- New Team of the Year went to Final Exam. Pretty easy award, I feel here. Not only was Lon great with character work, but the team also won some important matches.
- Entrance of the Year was a hard one this year because of the digital format. It went to ZaFlertinFlouse, who had a good entrance considering the crazy year we had.
- Before the next award, Striar showed up and said her piece about the Feud of the Year award.
- Star Wars Player of the Year went to the only one I thought it could go to and that was Cabrera. He was the surprise of the whole season. Congratulations and that was his second award this evening.
- Rookie of the Year went to Adam Collins. Another one that was in the bag. This guy did something no one, and I mean no one, saw coming. It may never happen again, people. Enjoy it.
- The Yodi Award went to Kevin Smets, which we all knew. All praise to him. We all love the guy and join in his fight. So emotional that it’s hard to put into words. Congratulations to the man. We are all rooting for him. Go watch that segment if you can.
- After the Flouse showed up, they showed a pretty good blooper reel that was funny throughout.
- Best Schmoedown Media went to Call to Action. We had to put this on our website because they don’t have one. In all seriousness, congratulations, guys.
- Innergeekdom Player of the Year was won by Dhandapani. It was a tough award but he did the thing and has the belt.
- Upset of the Year and it was probably one of the most heated awards out of them all. It went to Perri Nemiroff. Good on her and congrats.
- Faction of the Year went to Korruption. They deserved it and Kalinowski showed up to help Shannon Barney celebrate.
- Moment of the Year was won by “Dangerous” Dan Murrell for his ‘I won’ moment.
- Team of the Year and it went to Odd Couple. It is well deserved.
- Match of the Year was Murrell vs Adam “The Coyote” Collins, with Collins having the belt for show right over his shoulder.
- Manager of the Year went to Barney. Well deserved. Winning Faction and Manager of the Year plus the team Korruption winning Heel Team of the Year gives her three award wins in her first season as a manager.
- Singles Player of Year and it went to Collins. The guy, like I said before, did something nobody else may ever get the chance to do. Well deserved.
- The final award was Overall Player of the Year. “The Insneider” Jeff Sneider took the award home.
It was a great awards show, especially since it had to be done digitally. Congratulations to the Schmoedown for surviving COVID so far the best way they could.
